Following Chris Parker’s impressive victory over Nigel the Matmatician to open the show, suddenly a loud and piercing police siren deafens the arena as the lights in LDWA’s arena dim out while a single spotlight fixates itself on the entrance tunnel. As ”The Greatest Man That Ever Lived” by Weezer begins to play throughout the arena, Belle Blair takes the mic from ringside.
Belle Blair: “Ladies and gentlemen, please welcome the Commissioner of Decimation; Jake Diamond!”
Bursting through the curtain covered entrance tunnel, to an outlandish resilience of boos, comes Jake Diamond. Wearing a simple black suit with white pinstripes, Jake appears amused by the antics of those around him yet pleased by tonight’s activity. Roaming into the belly of the boos, Jake walks almost casually down the entrance ramp, taking his time to seep it all in.
Johnny Reifenheiser: “Now this here is a man that has what it takes to run a show like Decimation. He’s a young kid who’s not afraid to mix it in with everyone else, that takes tenacity!”
Dave Scoggins: “I don’t think I can agree. Sure, thus far, he’s been doing a decent job but how can you have someone who thinks he’s better than everyone else run the show?”
JR: “He sounds like any run of the mill boss. Difference is this kid isn’t afraid to tell everyone else how great he actually it!”
DS: “Yeah, I know what it’s like to work with someone like that... His theme music should be an explanation to his thoughts on himself anyway...”
Taking mental notes on the announcer’s feel for him, Jake continues his pace to the ring where he characteristically runs up the steel steps and climbs right into the ring, not wasting much time with taunts. Immediately walking to the center of the ring Jake, without even looking at or acknowledging Bell, raises a hand in the air, signalling for a microphone, which is tossed to him obediently.
Jake Diamond: “Ladies and gentlemen, as you all know, last week I introduced an innovative new program called ‘The Jake Diamond Initiative’ which works under a very simple principle; the entire arena is open for all to use and those who use it the most will be rewarded. Indeed a very practical way of weeding out those who belong and those who do not...
“However, it should readily be noted that how many of these young faces have I seen on the television in response to this in the past week? The answer is mine and mine alone, which is fitting seeing as how no one else in this business deserves to rewarded anymore than I am...”
Priding himself off of his own ego, Jake’s smile broadens as the fans, stereotypically, can only respond with cheap heat.
JD: “Within the past two weeks of LDWA’s inception I’ve also been seeing a lot of our hot young talent fight tooth and nail against the competition with no clear cut top contender drawing the line. The competition is fierce in this company... Yet, something troubling has come to my attention...
“There are still those who remain unchallenged. As if in a league of their own, we have a few wrestlers back there who have yet to show their fight and their will... Ladies and gentlemen, allow me to introduce you to one of Lion’s Den Wrestling’s newest talents and first willing participants in the ‘Jake Diamond Initiative...”
